The floating, half-submerged Mansions in Dubai are truly a sight to behold. Officially unveiled in 2015 during the Dubai International Boat Show and completed at the end of 2016. The first group of these one of a kind, iconic and patented dwellings were called the Floating Seahorse villas. It was named after the rare and endangered marine creatures. Each of these exclusive, marine-styled, holiday home villa have three levels. The bottom level where the master bedroom and a bathroom was at were totally submerged. The submerged part provided a breath-taking panoramic views of the Persian Gulf under the sea surrounded by coral reef and aquatic life. The second part at sea level is for the kitchen and dining area with a sun deck. The upper deck level has a magnificent location for alfresco dining and relaxation, an informal bed, mini bar, kitchenette, and a very classy Jacuzzi with a glass bottom. The upper deck can even transform into a winter bedroom. Due to it’s out of this world architectural design, all the Floating Seahorse villas had since sold out.

Introducing the Floating Seahorse Signature Edition

Riding on the success of the first group of water mansions for sale Dubai luxury properties the newer Signature Edition floating mansions are larger and more spacious. Unlike the first batch, the Signature Edition is designed for families. It has the same three levels but with four sleeping areas instead. What makes the second batch different is that you’ll be adding your own signature style to it depending on how you want it to be. The submerged ground floor retains the location of the master bedroom but with the addition of an entertainment room. All the innovative Floating Seahorse mansions have their own plot in the Arabian Gulf. They are anchored at Dubai’s heart-shaped St. Petersburg island, part of a man-made land mass of 300 artificial islands in the shape of the world.

The project began in 2003 but got delayed in 2008 because of the worldwide financial crisis. Development had proceeded since then. By 2018 there will already be more than 125 floating villas.
